At Rosa’s Lounge, the blues has always been the center of gravity. After more than four decades of supporting live music in Chicago, we proudly launched Rosa’s Lounge Records. Our mission is to discover, nurture and amplify the most authentic and innovative voices in music, working in partnership with exceptional artists across all genres.  

Aligning with our shared passion for music, equity and representing underserved artists, we designed Rosa’s Lounge Records as a joint venture. Musicians retain the rights over their intellectual property, reaping the benefits of our support and reputation by licensing their music to the record label.

This ethos is fully realized in Rosa’s Lounge Records’ first release, “The Blues is My Biography,” by Billy Branch and the Sons of Blues. Having graced Rosa’s stage on the very first day it opened four decades ago and as a frequent performer ever since, Billy was the perfect opening act for this exciting new path. The completed album is packed with special guests from Bobby Rush to Shemekia Copeland to Ronnie Baker Brooks, and it’s getting a lot of attention.
